Owner/Wielder:Storm Shadow from G.I Joe Series
Reference: Movie Version

Specs:

Long
Blade Length: 26 inches

Handle Length: 10 inches
Total Length: 28 inches

Favorite Aspect of the Weapon: The Handle, tsuka-maki *i always take my time when making the handles :3*

Hardest Aspect of the Weapon: Well for me for this one,hmmmmm.... it would be the arashikage symbol *the red stripes* my first try with this part i made i stencil to for it,it was fine when i sprayed it,but when i removed the stencil it got smeared O_O, i had to re do the entire blade because of it.because of the time limit i ended up using reflector Stickers...

Days took in Making this Weapon: 11 days*11 very tiring days O_O*

Misc Infos:

i have been watching :iconpiratecaptain: ' s videos in wooden katana making for quite some time now, this is the first time i tried this style in making a wooden katana(the first one i finish heheheh :D),These are the swords of Storm Shadow, one of my fave characters(the other one is also a ninja ^^) in the G.I Joe Series, hand made no power tools, main materials is wood,i made these for Kuya Kero.Photos were taken by me,not edited :D

i would like to thank other sword makers here in DA and specially to :iconchioky: :iconpiratecaptain: :iconfixinman: for their wonderful sword making guides

more power to us all :D

i dont know why i didn`t comment before. it i a great sword i love the handle and the handle wrap. i dont like the red stripes that much but if you like it you just need to do it.

one question. how did you made the habaki? i have made a tutorial but i`m always looking to improve it.

thanks, well in my method the habaki is actually part of the handle at first, then i cut it off and carved it into shape, its somewhat like a short cut to you method, instead of making a separate piece

ye i think so too, everytime i make the base of the blade i always put a space for the habaki in the tang and include it in making the base of the handle.

Negatives? Hell that's hard you're better in most aspects than me.
Positives. Great innovation in the wrapping, it gives a basket look to the handle. The paint on the handle is great. A good overall design.
The problem is the finish on the tsuba and and the collar parts, It seems rougher than your usual work. The peg hole is too big, you only need a bamboo skewer to hold the blade in. I'm really not sure about the red stripes. They really don't seem to fit in. Now for the real test, add a balance shot.

:) thanks, its really nice to hear it from someone else,i really mess up the tsuba a bit :D i guess 1 week and 4 days isn't enough for me to make two swords i rush into this project because there was a deadline, it was used by a cosplayer to promote G.I Joe Toys and other stuff hhehehehe... this particular type handle wrap is something i pick up while making the "Karas" katana *which i haven't finish yet* i was suppose to look like a basket where the diamond parts are very small so i tried overlapping the strips and it work fine :),i also applied the blade geometry i found in this site [link] it was something piratecaptain did, i didn't put a bo-hi though, the design i tried emulating didn't have a bo-hi :P and the red stripes :)) something that is necessary to the sword,if you'd see the original design of these swords, mines a bit off,the original design is a bit "modernize",BTW what is the right size for that "peg hole"?mines 1/8 inch...
